About Macarena

Mexican by birth and traveller by heart. I have grown up in Mexico and lived in Paris, Seoul, and NYC. I fell in love with rhythm cycling after trying it for the first time and realizing that was my type of spinning. I loved that it joined my past with dancing, my passion for cycling and my addiction to music in an intimate yet stimulating space. I was an instructor in Mexico for two years before moving to Australia and joining Bodhi & Ride. I love it because it represents what this country means to me: community, good vibes and new experiences.

 

Your vibe

I strive to transmit joy and strength. I want every person in the room to feel invigorated by the music, bringing them back to that present moment where mind and body are in sync. The journey through the class should leave them feeling empowered and believing they are capable of achieving anything they set out to do and being that incredible version of themselves to which they aspire.

 

Alter Ego

Gal Gadot. I love what she represents both as a person and as Wonder Woman: fierce strength, a kind heart and incredible valour.

 

When you’re not riding

When I’m not pedalling on the bike you find me running, having long talks with friends (preferably over a beer), discovering a new treasure in the city or, in most cases, eating!

 

Sweet Escape

I love spending time in the kitchen making delicious, handcrafted food products: call it cakes, granola, or kombucha.

About Andrea

I was born and raised in Mexico, more specifically in Jalisco, the land of Tequila and Mariachi. I decided to come to Australia to step out of my comfort zone, when I found Bodhi & Ride I immediately knew that I wanted to be an instructor here to share my music and dance passion to my riders, for me Bodhi is a place where I exercise, challenge myself and have a good time at the same time and that is what I want my riders to feel in my class, to just forget about the outside world, really have a good time and DANCE.

 

Your Vibe

My biggest passion is dancing, I did professional ballet and contemporary dance, so for me the movements that the music inspires me to do is what motivates me to wake up every day and empowers me.

When I’m not at Bodhi you can find me at the beach, having fun with friends and going on long walks with my dog.

About Chelsea

I’m a lifelong athlete with a passion for a variety of fitness and sports activities. I captained my college/university field hockey team and won three league titles. I was a competitive boxer (clinched an undisputed win in my first fight on the record!) and would consider fighting again if time, and my endurance during a rigorous training regimen, allows! Growing up I played field hockey and ice hockey through high school and started skating at age 9. I love exploring various modes of fitness, including CrossFit, kickboxing, running, weightlifting, and power yoga.

 

Your Vibe

I’d describe my class as intense and high energy. I appreciate the experience of music, and building the perfect playlist is critical to me. You’ll often see fun trap remixes, hip-hop, and EDM tracks that help propel the class when they need it most. My goal is to inspire participants to get uncomfortable and try something that scares them a little bit because that’s where the change and transformation happens. You’ll see moments in class that are inspired by my athletic background, where we will push our pace, accelerate to reach top speeds and top resistances, and maybe try some boxing-inspired core and arm work in. I want people to be fearless.

 

Alter Ego

Every time I sprint on the bike, I imagine I’m a cheetah in the wild running toward a single point in the distance. It makes me accelerate, sprint longer, and feel stronger.

 

When you’re not riding

I’ll try anything (and I mean anything!) once, or twice if I like it! On weekends you’ll find me exploring local wineries, hiking, fly fishing or exploring different fitness studios in the city. I rarely sit still and fill my free time with activities, friends, and fun side projects. I walk everywhere if it’s under 3k, so you may see me wandering the Tan, South Yarra, or Richmond at all hours of the weekend!

 

Sweet Escape

The Greek islands, Santorini and Mykonos specifically, are at the top of my list! Because my day to day life is extremely active and stimulating, my vacations are very lazy. I prefer lounging by the pool to sightseeing.

I have worked across some of the best fitness boutiques in London teaching most things from pilates to aqua aerobics to boxing and of course indoor cycling! I decided to hop over to Australia for a new challenge and experience a different culture so here I am!

 

Your vibe

My classes are full of purpose, hard work and the occasional sing-along! Be prepared to sweat. My music style is a mix between hip / R&B with the occasional house!

When you’re not riding

When I’m not riding you can usually catch me sleeping or somewhere in the boxing gym as that’s my second home!!

Hello, I’m Raquel and I’m an activewear addict. Former legal eagle who taught fitness classes on the side to keep me sane. Made me super sane I decided to do it full time! In the fitness scene for half a decade now, I also teach HIIT, Barre and Pilates so you’ll see elements of these reflected in the athleticism and technique-focus of my classes.

 

Your Vibe

Zero-fluff, no-bull and authentic. Music genre-wise, I’m all about the big beat drops! EDM is life. It’s not a Raquel RIDE or BODHI ATHLETE class without at least one Steve Aoki track. Love me some RnB and Latin beats too.

Hello there! I’m Gwen currently studying in RMIT,  born & raised in Malaysia but born to rock on the bike! I may be a petite instructor but get ready for feisty and fierce moments in my class!  Catch up with me for a coffee after class, fun fact I am a barista as well. My passion for rhythm ride never stops ever since I’ve started leading spin classes in the capital of Malaysia, therefore, it’ll never stop wherever I go.

 

Your Vibe

When you walk into my class you are gonna feel BADASS, you’re gonna have FUN and instead of just ridding, you’re going to feel like you’re on a dance floor! The intensity in my class is a bomb and you’ll never want to stop riding! I love EDM, HIP-HOP/RAP, POP and basically any songs you can groove with it.

When I’m in the zone I feel like I have a KPOP moment where I enjoy my creative movements on the bike.

 

When You’re Not Riding

I’ll be doing a lot of Pilates, Barre and Boxing classes in Kaya fitness and other than that eating is my forte, therefore, I enjoy most of my time trying out different cafes in Melbourne!

I am a bit of a Nomad, I’ve lived in Japan, Hawaii, most major US cities, and now Melbourne!!  I believe in the power of intention, my motto is “When you give life, you get life”. My passion for fitness has always been there but I have taken a few detours to get to where I am today; I was a hairstylist for ten years before making the huge step to redirect my life and become an instructor at SoulCycle which led me to one of the most amazing times in San Francisco.  I was a dancer for a long time and feel like I get to express myself through movement on a bike every day.  I have a YouTube channel where I create videos to motivate people, I am studying for my personal training certifications and will be starting a Health Coaching business. My goal is to help people realize their power and live their best lives.

I love to create an experience, you’ll notice right away that I love to set a good high vibe for the room from the moment you set your bike up to the time you walk out.  I am super eclectic with my music taste so you never know which Beyonce remix you’ll hear next to Tove Lo next to The Prodigy and right into crazy hip-hop throwback.  You’ll leave feeling empowered, a little bewildered, but excited for that next class to witness your incredible strength once more.

After growing up as an actress, I decided it was time to chase my other passion in life – fitness. While filming a TV series in 2016, I underwent my certification in fitness and decided to make it my mission to do every type of training possible, ranging from sprint training, pilates, boxing, HIIT and of course – Ride! I have trained in Ride all over the states and is ready to kick your butts into gear.

 

Your Vibe

Sweaty, fast and ready to WORK. My classes are designed to push you to your limits but there’s always time for a boogy to the RnB tunes. The trick is you’ll have so much fun singing along that you won’t even realize your heart rate is through the roof! I’m known for my 10/10 intensity, so If you don’t walk out of class still catching your breath, you know you can push harder next time!

 

Alter Ego

Two words: Smiling Assassin. Before and after class, you can expect smiles and giggles but the second that 45 mins sweat sesh begins I’m ready to snap into my fierce zone. I take no prisoners and will push you to your limits, but don’t you worry, the second class is over I’ll be sweet again!

 

When You’re Not Riding

When I’m not riding, you can almost guarantee I’m training somewhere else! As a self-confessed obsessed exerciser, I’m bound to be out for a run or killing my core with some pilates. Otherwise, I’ll be eating my way across Melbourne’s vegan cafes (Urban Projuice is my second home) and cuddling my gorgeous puppy/boyfriend/nephews.

Without a doubt, my happy place is Byron Bay. I spend the end of each year there on my family holiday and it is the highlight of every single year. There is something about the vibe there that is unbeatable. Everyone is calm, happy and healthy and let’s be honest – the vegan food is NEXT LEVEL.
